The battle mode changes, as do the maps, and with Port Mackerel and Camp Triggerfish available for Rainmaker I go back to the Splatterscope. Those lovely long corridors should suit the charger well.
Nope, not really. Well, not in my tentacles. This is actually a pretty poor battle for me, getting ...

I usually have a rough idea of what I'm doing in relation to my team and the goal in most battles. This is not one of those battles.
I like to think I am contributing, by inking turf, forging paths, engaging the opposition, but it mostly feels like I am in ...

Splat Bombs explode sooner than Suction Bombs. That makes a difference in the first few seconds of this Rainmaker battle in Port Mackerel. It doesn't quite stop me getting splatted, though.
The Rainmaker is picked up and dropping immediately, and then left alone, for reasons unknown. I blast a path with ...

Splat Zones, with Port Mackerel and Walleye Warehouse. I think the Splatterscope could be useful here. In other tentacles, perhaps, but I'm sticking with the 'scope whilst I remain in S-Rank battles.
My first battle of the session is on Port Mackerel, where I have definite tactics, mostly to stay on ...

I really don't think I'm good enough, or dedicated enough, or serious enough for S Rank Splatoon. But I give it a try, mostly.
At least in this Rainmaker battle I contribute to splats and inking turf, rather than simply being target practice for the other team.

I admit that I'm playing it safe with the Splattershot Jr. I could use a different weapon, but the Jr lets me be mobile and gives me a Bubbler for emergencies. I'll swap to something else once I'm a bit more comfortable.
This Rainmaker battle gets off to an amazing start. ...

I decide to flank the Rainmaker at the start of this battle in Port Mackerel, thinking it to be a sneaky option. Maybe I get a cunning splat on a charger, but I completely lose track of where the Rainmaker is, to the whole team's detriment.

The Splatterscope is fun, the Splattershot Jr was good, but I'm switching it up again to battle with the Dual Squelcher for a bit, still in Splat Zones.
I take care to mind my range, and my surroundings, but can't quite stop a two-pronged attack at the start of the battle.
This ...

Port Mackerel Splat Zones with the Splatterscope has seen me holing up on the raised platform over the first Splat Zone, and keeping that zone secure. But it seems that A+ battles demand a more active approach to defence, one that involves a little more aggression.
I can see why, too. ...

0-11 with the Splatterscope, but I carry the Rainmaker 7 times (once by accident), and do a pretty good job of avoiding the Killer Wails.

Even with my performance with the charger, I am pleased with my contribution to the battle.
