Well, mostly staying out of harm's way. Two early splats encourage me to be a bit more cautious with my squidding around.

Making good use of the gamepad's map, and having excellent squidmates keeping the ink turfed and opponents away, means that I don't get splatted again.

Or, at least, trying to be sneaky. It's not easy when your ink gives away your entrance, as the Kelp Splat Charger inkling notices. I go back to exact my weak revenge, before trying a different route.
A major bit of newb fever hits me for a bit, as I flounder, ...

Switching around the weapons, just for variety, I'm going with the Splattershot Jr in to Splat Zones.
I like being mobile and not being predictable, so it's kinda funny when I try a fancy squid/jump/turn to prevent being splatted, only to have a different inkling splat me from behind anyway. Or ...

A muddled start, some competent play to get a fair lead, and then purple ink goes everywhere.
It's a fun, frantic battle, and I am impressed with my agile evasion of that Seeker, as well as the occasional realistion that I should be inking the Splat Zone rather than hunting inklings.

I've been on a number of losing games of Splat Zones where the opposition takes control and simply dominates the turf. It's pretty frustrating when it happens, but is normally well-earned. This game almost goes the other way.
There's a small period where we lose control, btu once we regain it ...

My first battle of the evening, and it shows. My co-ordination is off, my aim is off, and I make newbie mistakes. Thank goodness for the rest of my team having their wits about themselves.
At least I get my act together in good time, and start contributing to controlling the ...

Moray Towers is in the rotation, which would be time to break out the Splatterscope, but the other map is Hammerhead Bridge. Well, if I can make it work on Kelp Dome, I can see what I can do on the Bridge.
I look for a perch of relative safety that ...

Note that when I take initial control of the tower, there are three purple squids, at least, contesting the central area, and only me representing the yellow squids. A look at the gamepad, as I have time during respawn, shows them to be faffing around at the edges. It's a ...

A change of weapon to the Splattershot Jr, to see if I can improve my performance in Tower Control. The map moves back from Hammerhead Bridge to Kelp Dome, but that shouldn't matter. I'm hoping the Bubbler will help me out.
What would also help is knowing what's happening. I completely ...

Tower Control doesn't get much simpler than this. Go to the tower, ride it to the base. It's like Ice Cube telling us what to do.

It's good to see every squid spamming 'Nice!' as we reach the goal.
Let's have a second: Can we make it in Tower Control?
After early forays ...
